The 3rd World Congress of GI Endoscopy, ENDO 2022, will take place May 13–15, 2022 in Kyoto, Japan, and here are five reasons why you should attend:

  1. WEO is joining forces with the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES)
World Endoscopy Organization (WEO) is honored to partner with JGES in hosting ENDO 2022, the third World Congress of GI Endoscopy, the WEO’s flagship event. JGES was established in 1959 and has 35 000 members. The first JGES conference was the Gastro-Camera conference, and today JGES regularly organizes biannual congresses and educational seminars as well as regional conferences.
  2. Two meetings, only one registration fee
ENDO 2022 will be held concurrently with the 103rd Congress of the JGES. The single registration fee of JPY 15 000 (approximately USD 150) will allow participants to attend all academic sessions offered by both ENDO 2022 and 103 JGES.
  3. Worldwide expertise – and regional relevance
The ENDO 2022 Scientific Committee is developing a state-of-the-art program. As is now standard for the ENDO congresses, the Committee includes an impressive list of members who represent each of the WEO zones: the Asian-Pacific Society for Digestive Endoscopy (A-PSDE), European Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE), and Sociedad Interamericana de Endoscopia Digestiva (SIED).

Incorporating the most innovative and relevant themes in endoscopy, the scientific program will feature lectures and demonstrations by well-known GI experts. And to celebrate this special occasion, WEO and JGES will be hosting several joint symposia with partner societies, that address topics of special interest for each world region.

  4. A joint industry exhibition
WEO and JGES will host a combined industry exhibition at the conference venues, Kyoto International Conference Center and The Prince Takaragaike Hotel. This will offer an opportunity for networking with WEO and JGES delegates. Key players in the field of endoscopy are expected, offering participants the opportunity to learn about the newest technical and scientific developments.Picture: Aerial view of the Kyoto International Conference Center and The Prince Kyoto Takaragaike Hotel, venues of ENDO 2022 in Kyoto, Japan (Courtesy of ICC Kyoto).

  5. Kyoto, the cultural capital of Japan
Kyoto, with its history of more than a thousand years, is considered to be Japan’s cultural capital. Its hospitality, culture, and traditions make this city one of Japan’s premier destinations. It is home to numerous Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, palaces, and gardens, many of which are listed collectively by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
