Traveling to Kyoto

ENDO 2022 will take place in Kyoto, home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This world-famous city was the imperial capital of Japan for over a thousand years, and is still considered to be the heart and soul of traditional Japan. Those who explore Kyoto can expect magical bamboo forests, ornate shrines and temples, impeccably dressed geishas, theatre performances, and rambunctious monkeys. Visitors can learn all about art, tea, Zen Buddhism, and other pillars of Japanese culture, all within the city boundaries. Kyoto is also an ideal base for day trips to the ancient capital of Nara and the bustling city of Osaka as well as to Kobe and several other destinations.

Update Regarding Traveling to Kyoto

March 23, 2022

Although ENDO 2022 would be happy to welcome international attendees and abstract presenters onsite in the International Kyoto Convention Center, we regret to inform that at this point in time we do not encourage international attendees to visit the venue due to current strict entry regulations and quarantine conditions imposed by the Japanese government.

Currently, the ENDO 2022 local secretariat office is not able to issue a “Certificate for Completion of Registration to the ERFS system” which is being requested by local consular offices to apply for the entry visa to Japan.

Should this change within the next days, we will update this message and provide additional information.

In case that you decide to apply yourself and your visa application is still successful, please make sure to check and follow government policy according to your country of departure and adhere strictly to regulations before traveling to Kyoto.

Note: ENDO 2022 will not be responsible for any refund of tickets or hotel accommodations and/or denials of visa applications and/or denials to enter the country.
