Message from the Presidents

The 3rd World Congress of GI Endoscopy, ENDO 2022, will take place on May 13-15, 2022 in Kyoto, Japan and it is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to participate in this historic event.

ENDO 2022 will take place together with the 103rd Congress of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society, as a result of a fruitful collaboration between WEO and JGES. Participation at either event allows delegates to enjoy both. In total, more than 9,000 participants are expected.

Features of this joint event reflect the long-standing cooperation between WEO and JGES. Payment of a single registration fee will allow participants to move freely through both ENDO 2022 and the 103rd JGES Congress. Furthermore, all participants will have access to a single joint exhibition; this will provide an excellent platform for networking.

The ENDO 2022 Scientific Program will include a variety of session formats and provide solid learning opportunities for young doctors and other clinicians to improve their daily practice. The most recent advances in technology will be presented for advanced experts. Live endoscopy demonstrations will be broadcast from Japan, India, South Korea, and China, and will again be one of the program's highlights.

With all this to look forward to, we very much hope to welcome you to ENDO 2022 in Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan. Join us now and help to put the future of endoscopy in focus!

UPDATE

The 3rd World Congress of GI Endoscopy in hybrid format
WEO and JGES are very happy to announce that ENDO 2022 will take place both face-to-face in Kyoto and online as a hybrid event. The organizing committee is aware that, due to COVID regulations in different countries, not all our participants may be able to join us on site. With a hybrid format, ENDO 2022 is committed to enabling as many colleagues as possible to take part.
Preparations for a joint exhibition with our partner event, the 103JGES Congress, continue in full swing and both ENDO 2022 and the 103JGES will be hosted at the Kyoto International Conference Center. Registration for the congress will open in February 2022.
We very much look forward to seeing many of you in Kyoto and welcoming online participants from all regions of the world!

WEO, WORLD ENDOSCOPY ORGANIZATION

The World Endoscopy Organization, WEO, was established in 1962 at the World Congress of Gastroenterology in Munich, Germany. Since then it has led the worldwide promotion of high standards and quality in endoscopy by enhancing both international cooperation and access to training and education.

WEO is a nonprofit umbrella organization covering three geographical zones: Asia-Pacific (via the Asian-Pacific Society for Digestive Endoscopy, A-PSDE), Europe/Mediterranean (European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, ESGE) and the Americas (Interamerican Society of Digestive Endoscopy, SIED). In 2018, WEO opened its doors to individual members, who can now access a global network of specialists.

JGES, JAPAN GASTROENTEROLOGICAL ENDOSCOPY SOCIETY

JGES was established in 1959 as the Japan Gastrocamera Society. This evolved into the Japan Endoscopy Society in 1961, which went on to rename itself as the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society in 1973, to reflect the focus of its activities. The Society has grown from an initial membership of only 280 to over 34,820 in 2020. JGES is dedicated to advancing patient care and welfare, by promoting endoscopic digestive disease research and by developing and advancing endoscopic practice.
